The Black Widow’s first “costume” was actually a very swanky evening dress and fur.

Of the Avengers, the best mechanic is, of course, Tony, and he’ll fix up cars for fun, but mostly super-advanced computerized cars. Natasha and Clint are also excellent mechanics, but because they have to be, although it’s not a hobby with them. Steve didn’t know much about civilian cars when he woke up (he was really good with army vehicles) but Tony’s teaching him and Steve is a really quick learner when it comes to cars. Bruce is a surprisingly terrible mechanic, since the only technology he ever uses is lab equipment and computers, and he doesn’t care about cars anyway. Thor was once interested in learning about cars, but his hands weren’t agile enough for the wires and he ended up blasting the car with lightning out of frustration.

Coulson and Fury both used to know about cars, but they don’t need to work on cars much anymore, so they’ve forgotten most of what they used to know. Loki just doesn’t care about cars at all.

However, the best mechanic of the group is Maria Hill. She doesn’t work with the kind of advanced technology Tony does, but when it comes to normal cars, she’s even better than he is.

Guys, hey, guys. Do you remember that time that Coulson called Natasha and she ended up forming the Avengers?  Remember how she did that by digging up Bruce Banner and introducing Steve to him then was the voice of reason when Tony and Steve were bickering and then how she brought Clint back from being mind controlled so that they can be a team? Remember that? Remember how the Black Widow out smarted a god? Remember that time she kept her shit together when the Hulk attacked her, even though she was really scared? Remember when she knocked an alien off his flying scooter and figured out how to drive it despite it being extrateresstrial tech, then got her ass up to the top of Stark Tower, found Loki’s staff and saved the world from being invaded by turning off the machine?

Remember how she was the central character of the whole freaking movie?

Anyone else remember that? I sure do.

I love this post.

If they don’t make a Black Widow movie, I just… will never understand life at all.

Before Clint met Natasha, he was lost. No one could ever match him in wits, hand-to-hand or dark sense of humour. No one had ever come close to making him feel inferior until the day Natasha Romanova started working at S.H.E.I.L.D and shot him down with his own arrow.

Natasha has a very different memory of that day, much like their time in Budapest. But until the day she started working at S.H.E.I.L.D and shot Clint down from his nest, no one had made her feel like a woman. No one had made her feel this smart, this powerful, this in charge. They didn’t call her the Black Widow for no good reason, and if this Barton boy wasn’t careful, he’d find out why, the hard way.

The car tire behind Hawkeye’s head when he delivers his “Captain, it would be my genuine pleasure” line cracks me up.

It’s like they’re trying so hard to convince us that yes, he really is a good guy now, that they had to literally give him a halo.

And the next thing he does is go and save babies from buses.
